Have you ever considered that before a young bird’s wings swish into action and begin to soar, they must first experience what it means to fall?

Sobering, isn’t it?

As I was snapping a shot of the sunset this week, a bird swept past and I caught this photo. It was the kind of moment that gives you pause. That causes you to suck in your breath and choose thankfulness for this beautiful world in which we live.

It’s a gift that these moments can happen amid all the messiness of life, don’t you think?!

It reminded me of this quote that I love. It’s framed on my wall, now a daily encouragement to put my brave on. So here it is for you today. A reminder to choose courage.

Just like that wee bird… who had to risk falling before he realised he could fly.
