Sometimes, it just hurts. Christmas, I mean.
The build up; the everything.

I’ve been there.

If that’s you this year?
Let me take a moment to let you know that I see you.
You are not overlooked.

Couples with empty arms, watching the world celebrate new life and birth with jolly abandon. And everything aches.

Hearts that tremble with loss, framed by memories of past Christmases that you’d so dearly love to live again, but can’t.

Souls that hunger for hope in a season of struggles that appears never ending, seeming to stretch farther than the eye can see.

The thing about this season?

It’s about the miracle in the middle of the mess.
Your mess.
My mess.
Our mess.

And you know what that means? Messiness is okay.

If that’s all you’ve got to give?

Friend, that’s enough.

If you don’t feel ready for it this year, that’s okay. Extend yourself grace. Be present for your loved ones as you’re able. Notice the little things. All the rest is a bonus.

If you’d like to welcome Christmas gently with hope even here, amid the pain of a broken world, I’ve created a gift for you.
